Charming Smile Dental is about a twelve-minute walk from Paulus Hook, inland and slightly north of the ferry terminal. We are at 115 Christopher Columbus Drive, in the Medical Arts Plaza building.
Paulus Hook is well served for dentists. Several sit within a few blocks of Washington Street. So the honest question is not whether there is one nearer to you, because there probably is. It is whether the extra few minutes buys you anything.
What the extra few minutes buys
We are not on the waterfront. We are in a medical building a few streets inland, and our overheads reflect that. A practice paying tower-front rent has to recover it somewhere, and it is usually recovered from patients.
The second thing is scope. Implants, root canals, crowns, Invisalign and cosmetic work all happen in this office. For anyone whose diary is already tight, the difference between one practice and three is the difference between one afternoon and several.
Getting here from Paulus Hook
- On foot. About twelve minutes, heading inland and north through Van Vorst Park.
- By PATH. Exchange Place to Grove Street is one stop, then two minutes on foot.
- By ferry. If you come in on the Paulus Hook ferry, the walk up is the same twelve minutes.
- Parking. Grove Pointe garage at 100 Christopher Columbus Drive, directly opposite us.
Knowing the cost first
Ask us what something costs before you agree to it, and we will tell you plainly. Nobody should leave a dental office unsure what they have just committed to. If a treatment plan runs to several visits, ask for the whole figure rather than the first appointment, and we will give you that too.

We open at 9:00am on weekdays, close at 6:00pm on Monday, Thursday and Friday, and at 5:30pm on Tuesday and Wednesday. Saturday runs 9:00am to 3:00pm.

Most major PPO dental plans are accepted. We do not take Medicaid, state plans, DHMO or DMO plans. For patients without cover we take cash, debit and all major credit cards, and CareCredit is available for larger work.

Probably for two reasons. We are inland rather than on the waterfront, so our costs are lower. And we handle implants, root canals, Invisalign and cosmetic work in this office rather than referring you elsewhere.

Yes, 9:00am to 3:00pm. Closed Sunday.
