Charming Smile Dental is at 115 Christopher Columbus Drive, in the Medical Arts Plaza building. From Exchange Place it is about a thirteen-minute walk, or one stop on the PATH to Grove Street and two minutes on foot from there.
We are not on the waterfront, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. What we are is close enough to reach on a lunch break, and far enough from the towers that you are not paying waterfront rent through your treatment fees.
Getting here from Exchange Place
- On foot. About thirteen minutes, heading inland and north-west through Paulus Hook.
- By PATH. One stop from Exchange Place to Grove Street, then a two-minute walk along Christopher Columbus Drive.
- By car. The Grove Pointe garage at 100 Christopher Columbus Drive is directly across the road from us.
If you work at Harborside, 30 Hudson Street, 101 Hudson Street or anywhere along the Exchange Place waterfront, the PATH route is usually quicker than walking and takes the weather out of it.
Built around a working day
Most people who work around Exchange Place have the same problem. The dentist is open exactly when they are at their desk. So we try to be practical about it.
- First appointment of the day. Come before you go into the office rather than taking time out of it.
- Midday. A check-up and clean usually fits inside an hour. Tell us you are coming from work and we will book you accordingly.
- Saturday mornings. For anything longer, a Saturday appointment means no time off at all.
We open at 9:00am every weekday. We close at 6:00pm on Monday, Thursday and Friday, and at 5:30pm on Tuesday and Wednesday. Saturday is 9:00am to 3:00pm. We are closed on Sunday.

Insurance through your employer
Most people working downtown have a PPO dental plan through their employer, and we take most major PPO plans. We do not take Medicaid, plans through the state, or any DHMO or DMO plan.
If your card does not make it obvious which kind you have, call us and read it out. We will tell you before you take time out of your day to come in. If you have no cover at all, we take cash, debit and all major credit cards, and CareCredit lets larger treatment be paid over time.
