From Garfield Avenue station the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail reaches Marin Boulevard in about seven minutes, with trains roughly every ten minutes. From there it is a walk of about eleven minutes to our door at 115 Christopher Columbus Drive.
That is the part people underestimate. Bergen-Lafayette is often described as far from downtown, which is true by road at rush hour and not true at all by rail. The light rail does not sit in traffic.
The journey, honestly described
- By light rail. Garfield Avenue or Martin Luther King Drive to Marin Boulevard, around seven minutes, every ten minutes or so.
- Then on foot. About eleven minutes east from Marin Boulevard to Christopher Columbus Drive.
- By car. Faster outside peak hours. The Grove Pointe garage at 100 Christopher Columbus Drive is opposite our building.
Allow around twenty-five minutes door to door and you will not be rushing. If you are already traveling in for work or errands, the stop costs you very little extra.
Why it is worth the ride
Bergen-Lafayette has fewer dental options than the waterfront, and the ones nearby do not all offer the full range. What that means in practice is referrals: a root canal here, an implant consultation there, an orthodontist somewhere else, each with its own waiting list.
Implants, root canals, crowns, Invisalign and cosmetic work are all done in this office. For someone making a journey in, one practice that finishes the job is worth more than a nearer one that starts it.
Dr. Singal earned her Doctorate in Dental Surgery at the New York University College of Dentistry and treats her own patients. The practice has more than 880 reviews on Google at an average of 4.8 stars.

Insurance
We take most major PPO dental plans. We do not take Medicaid, plans through the state, or any DHMO or DMO plan. Please check your card before traveling in, and call us if it is not clear. We would much rather tell you on the phone than have you make the trip for nothing.
Common questions

About seven minutes on the light rail from Garfield Avenue to Marin Boulevard, trains roughly every ten minutes, then an eleven-minute walk. Allow around twenty-five minutes door to door.
Which light rail stop should I use?
Garfield Avenue or Martin Luther King Drive going in, and Marin Boulevard to get off. Then head east on foot.
Is it worth coming this far for a dentist?
It depends on what you need. For a routine cleaning, a closer practice may suit you. For implants, root canals or orthodontics, we finish the work in one office rather than referring you on.
Do you take Medicaid?
No. We take most major PPO plans only, not Medicaid, state plans, DHMO or DMO. Please check before traveling in.
What are your Saturday hours?
Saturday 9:00am to 3:00pm, which is usually the easiest slot if you are coming in by rail.
